How to: be poor

As you can probably tell there was a little bit of sarcasm in the title but in all seriousness though I have 12p. However, being skint, doesn’t mean that you can’t do anything.

I’m the type of person who “hates everyone” (mainly when I’m in town) unless I have chosen them as a friend- some people just have no common sense and get in the way, like what are you dooooing. But yeah, the people I choose to spend time with are great and I could spend everyday with them.

So here’s some cheap/free activities to do with your chosen people;

Go on a walk; I know this is probably pretty obvious but sometimes it’s nice to just be out the house, soaking up your surroundings and having a good chat

Girls night; now, if you’re prepared, this can be dirt cheap. Root through your freezer for food that you can cook in advance and have out to snack on. Face masks can be easily made at home with your average household kitchen items, and if a bit of a chocolate face mask accidentally drops into your mouth then you just have to eat it don’t you. I’m guessing you probably have a, or some, nail varnish- nail art can be done using toothpicks and Bobby pins, and can take some time. And lastly, chuck on a good chick flick, you can’t go wrong.

Film/post; if you’re a blogger or YouTuber, getting your friends involved in your posts or videos can be pretty fun, and free if you already have the equipment, and considering you are reading this on some sort of phone or laptop, you probably do!

Chill; whether this is done in a park, garden, living room, some chill time is always good. Sunbathing, watching TV, or grabbing a coffee (for those with at least £2.50) is always much better with company. Recently I have been trying to meditate often,it lets your mind rest and when done with others can be quite an experience.

I hope this fuelled your mind to think of some free activities, it’s always nice to spend time with you’re friends, family and one your love. Stay positive. Goodbye for now little buns!

haul

MAC Haul!

Hi Guys! As promised in my last post… Here’s my MAC haul! I planned in advance what I wanted to get and rewrote my list over and over to make sure I was getting exactly what I wanted as its not often that I get that much money to spend at MAC! I watched many “MAC must haves” videos and kept my brain ticking for about a week before I decided what I wanted..so here goes! And for those who are interested, I will have links and prices to everything at the end of the post.

DSC_0206

The first thing I got was the Fix+ and I am SO happy that I did! It also comes in the cute sparkly box which I love! Normally, regardless of the quality of my foundation, it will ALWAYS separate on my nose however using this it is set in stone. I went shopping on Sunday and then to a mini festival  and my makeup did not budge, even though I had it on from 9am until 1:30am! I am loving this product and would highly suggest it to anyone who struggles with keeping their makeup on their face!

DSC_0210

The next thing I got was 4 eye shadows and a mini palette to put them in! I am 100% aware that these look like the exact same colour and even when I tried to swatch them the camera just did not do them any justice! However I have used this for a good 5 days on the run and had a totally different eye look every day! The colours I chose are (from right to left on my swatch but left to right in the palette (good one Chloe)) “All that glitters”, “Cork”, “Patina” and “Tempting”. The shadows are so easy to work with and very pigmented. I think that they really suit blue eyes but I can imagine them suiting every eye colour!

DSC_0211

I had to pick up this blush in “dame”. I haven’t heard many people talk about it but it is the perfect light dusty rose colour and again I can imagine this suiting multiple, if not all skin tones. Even though it is very pale it is very pigmented and perfect for summer or any natural look.

DSC_0212

The next thing I bought was the pro longwear concealer in NC15 which is surprisingly thin feeling even though it is very full coverage. Because I am so pale and my skin is so thin my dark circles always prove tricky to hide but this makes it 10 times easier to pretend I don’t normally look dead. I have also been using it to cover up the redness I get round my nose ring and that has been doing the trick perfectly!

DSC_0213

I also picked up the strobe cream as I am all about that glowy skin. It feels really hydrating and gives my skin a lovely, healthy looking glow, my skin looks much less dull when I am wearing this. The woman who helped me (after waiting for an hour  for someone to be free to help me, thanks Fiona for being a good sport and waiting with me!) told me it was better value to get two little ones instead of one big one, you actually get more for less £ which we like…

DSC_0215

DSC_0216

The last thing I got was a frost lip stick in the colour “angel”. This is perfect for summer and is my equivalent of a nude. Once again the camera is not doing it any justice. I found that the lipstick stays on pretty well until I am eating and drinking which is pretty much the same with any lip stick.

DSC_0217

Here is my face with it all on! I only used two eye shadows though, “All that glitters” and “Cork”.

Also, to try and show you what the colours really look like, I took a nice grainy iphone picture..

Did that help at all? Who knows, I hope so!

Prep and Prime Fix+ £15.50

Eye Shadows £10 each

Pro Palette Eye shadow x4 £5

Dame blush £18

Pro longwear concealer £17

Strobe Cream (travel size) £10

Angel Lipstick £15.50

I hope you enjoyed this post! And in case you missed my last two then I just want to say that I am in no way trying to brag, I was bought MAC gift cards for my birthday and thought it would be fun to do a haul for you guys! Anyway, I’m off to work in an hour so I should probably think of getting my lunch sorted! Goodbye for now little buns!

Merry Christmas! (2014)

Hello Everyone! I hope you are all having, or had, an amazing Christmas! Today I am going to share with you some of the things I got, obviously not everything because I don’t think you want to hear me ramble on about wonder woman knickers, millions of scented candles and cosy socks. I also just want to say that I am not bragging in any way, shape or form, I just love writing and reading haul style posts and I hope that you guys do too! So, let’s begin.

DSC_0166

I got X by Ed Sheeran and 1989 by Taylor Swift and I think I’ve already listened to them 6 times each. They are both amazing so if you are thinking of getting yourself a little something something, boom, both of these.

DSC_0167

Next are these babies. LOOK AT THEM. HNNNNGGGG
So shiny and masculine AND feminine, and comfortable.

DSC_0168

Next is this Estee Lauder Blush in “Plush Petal”, let’s start with the packaging please. It just look’s so luxurious and “posh”.

DSC_0169

I can’t cope. Someone please send help. Beauty in it’s simplest form. It is so pigmented and feels super smooth. It also looks surprisingly natural on my face.

DSC_0170

The next thing I got was this Urban Decay Smoked palette that comes with a free liner and mini primer potion! I love Urban Decay shadows so I was super excited to get this.

DSC_0171

As you can see all of the colours are so beautiful and on the darker, smokier side. I have already used some of the colours this morning and I can’t wait to do loads of make up looks with this palette!

DSC_0172

I also got this Tanya Burr “Aurora” lip gloss which is so creamy and very pigmented for a lip gloss. I love the colour as it still looks natural and is my equivalent of “nude”.

DSC_0173

Everyone always gets bath sets for Christmas so I thought I would smush these all together so it’s not too repetitive! I got the next cashmere set, a Ted Baker set, the Lush Happy box thing, a jelly baby set and a lush candy mountain bath bomb, and one that I could not fit in the picture…

DSC_0174

which is The Body Shop Argan Oil collection thingy but all wrapped up in a cute little box! I will probably review this next year as I am expecting great things!

DSC_0175

Next I got two things from the Zoella pamper range which is the blue make up bag because her eyebrows are on fleek and the fizz bar. I have seen Louise aka Sprinkle of Glitter use this and the bubbles this makes are amazing!

DSC_0180

I think I have enough lip balm to say that I collect it so obviously I was bought more! I can’t get enough of lip balm so I can’t wait to try these out!

DSC_0181

I also managed to get two naked basics palettes so stay tuned to find out what will be happening with one of them… The colours in the palette are very versatile and I really think that you could survive with just this palette, day and night!

DSC_0177

Since these are the more “adult” presents I thought I’d save these as my last two. As you can see I got two bottles of vodka because my family know me too well. One is salted caramel popcorn flavoured and the other is “hot” (aka chilli) chocolate flavoured, and is nearly 40%! If it doesn’t kill me then I will see you next time! I hope you enjoyed this post and enjoy the rest of your day! Goodbye for now little buns!

advice

My top ten tips (ooh alliteration) on how to get over someone

Alrighty, so I am a little hesitant to do this post as I have never actually had a boyfriend, I have had a very hard time with one person in particular but never been in a relationship. And to be honest I’m not really eager to be in one, too much hassle for my liking. And the fact that I would have to spend money on them and not make up. But one of my friends said that I give great advice and should to a post on it (Shoutout to Joelle!). So, here goes, my tips on “getting over” someone.

1. Remember that you don’t need them. You do not need anyone at all to be able to love yourself. Not one single person. Sure, it’s nice knowing that someone truly loves you for who you are but once you love yourself for who you are, you don’t need anyone. Just remember that you are f*cking awesome.

2. Don’t beat yourself up about it. No matter what or how it happened, don’t blame yourself. If the relationship was meant to be, then it would have lasted, but sometimes these things happen for the better. I don’t speak to one of my closest friends in the world any more, and yeah it feels pretty sh*t, but there is no point trying to force something that just isn’t going to work. Everything happens for a reason. Do not blame yourself.

3. Pretend they don’t exist. So yeah this sounds pretty harsh, but just forget that they exist. Delete their number, unfriend them on facebook, block them on twitter, ALL of it. Because then their name isn’t popping up at every given opportunity, making you feel like crap. Also, this stops you from contacting them, from giving in. If they reeeally wanted to contact you, they would. By doing this you also aren’t seeing all those pictures of them with another girl/boy, making you feel even more like crap. So just delete every picture, conversation, profile, and be done with it.

4. “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened”. I know some, well, most people will hate this one, but I really like this quote. I bet you had some amazing times that you will remember forever with that person, and maybe you can relive these with someone else. Every little thing that happens to you is a memory for you to cherish, whether that be good or bad, its what has made your life unique. I mean, yeah it wasn’t fun crying on a bathroom floor for four hours, falling over at prom or watching the person I really loved be in and out of relationships with other people, but they are all memories that have given me a story to tell.

5. There’s plenty more fish in the sea. I know this is the last thing you want to hear right now, but it’s really true. Even though, to you, the last person you were with is like an absolute God and the only person you ever want to be with, there are so many more people out there who in comparison make your ‘ex’ look like a skid mark. I’m just saying.

6. Don’t live on hope. This is a big one for me. I liked the same person for 5 years, yes you read that right. And it was because they constantly gave me hope that something- anything -would happen. He would constantly compliment me and hug me, get jealous when I talked to other guys and we would talk for hours on end. He even told me to “see what happens in the future”. And because of that I constantly hoped that one day I would be good enough for him, that he would finally love me too (deep). So, after leaving school in May, I haven’t contacted him at all, sure he’s popped up once or twice, but I know that nothing else is going to happen, so I don’t waste my time trying any more.

7. You ARE good enough. This kinda links in with points 2 and 6, but don’t think that it ended or that they aren’t with you because you aren’t good enough. Just because they don’t appreciate how amazing you are doesn’t mean that you aren’t amazing. Did that even make sense? You know what I mean. Someone somewhere thinks that you are an absolute Queen/King and will fall in love with everything about you. You’re f*cking cool.

8. Keep yourself healthy. I know a lot of people who have broke up with someone or had a hard time with someone and stopped eating, or completely over indulged (*cough cough* me…). If you eat better, you feel better. Also, healthy food can taste absolutely amazing. If you want me to make any healthy, vegetarian food posts (even pizza), let me know. Obviously everyone likes junk food every now and then, but not on the daily. Go out on long walks, let out your anger or pain in the gym, and make them sorry for what they have lost 😉

9. Its a great reason for a good pampering. I’m talking face masks, nails, hair, make up. I always feel great when I have my nails freshly painted, a face mask on and new make up to try out. Everyone loves a good make over, a new look for a new chapter of your life. Whether that be just getting some layers, dying your hair a different colour or chopping it off, you will feel so much more confident and not like the person you were a few weeks ago. Boys, the hair situation applies to you too, go spikey, beachy, longer, shorter- something different. And I know some boys who love face masks, so you may want to give them a try, be careful with peel off ones if you have any facial hair. Stick on some good, HAPPY music too. Music really does affect your mood.

10. And last but not least, stay around your friends and family. You probably don’t want to leave the house, I get it, but keeping yourself cooped up all by yourself is not going to help the situation at all. Go out and have a good time with your friends or family, these people will, most likely, be more angry at the person you are trying to forget than you are, so they will want to to be happy, completely forget about them and move on. If you reeeeally don’t want to leave the house, invite them round. Watch a good “rom-com” with face masks, food (I’ll let you have pizza for this one) and whatever else you all enjoy!

So there’s my top ten tips! I hope I helped you in some way, remember, they are poo and you are fabuloso, goodbye for now little buns!

The Liebster Award!

Hi guys! I was nominated by the wonderful sshhbeauty to do the Liebster Award…thing. It is shared from blog to blog, letting all of us little blogs get to know each other. Whoever has nominated you will come up with 11 questions for you to answer and then you create 11 for 11 other blogs (with less than 1000 followers) to answer. And then it just goes on and on really. Who knows when it will end!

So, here are my 11 questions to answer!

1.Necklaces or bracelets – forever?

If I am honest with you, I don’t really wear either. I went through a phase of wearing about 20 bracelets every day but now I barely remember to change my earrings! But if I had to pick I would go with necklaces.

2.Name a product that you have more than 3 of.

Everything apart from concealer… That’s so bad.

3.Do you like sweet or savoury food?

Sweet all the way. But I like salted caramel chocolate and I used to dip my McDonalds chips into my milkshake, so I guess a combination of the two. I know, I’m disgusting.

4.What’s your biggest fear?

I actually have a phobia of death and if I think about it too long I get panic attacks and hallucinate, so I’m gonna stop now…

5.What do you spend more on – lipstick or foundation?

Foundation definitely, I barely wear lipstick because I cant make the commitment to reapply it properly after I eat or drink. Lipbalm all the way!

6.How long have you been blogging for?

Since May 21st!

7.What’s one colour that you would never wear?

Neon yellow. It does not suit me in any way, shape or form.

8.Would you rather never wear face products or never wear eye products?

HOW CAN YOU MAKE ME CHOOSE BETWEEN THEM?! I think it would have to be face, otherwise you won’t know where my eyes are.

9.Only shampoo or only conditioner?

Shampoo if I was allowed to use oils on my hair.

10.Name a summer staple of yours for this year.

Am I allowed to say banoffee protein pancakes? Probably not. But, hey, I did.

11.Do you have a post that you aspire to write in the future?

I am actually sooo bad with coming up with posts to write. Sometimes I have loads of ideas and will write down so I am prepared for a couple weeks but usually I am desperately trying to think of something interesting to write about.

Here are the people I nominate!

2. Eyebrows or eyeliner?

3. Are you a ‘little bun’?

4. What is your most favourite purchase ever?

5. Do you prefer to wear jeans or dresses?

6. What are your favourite type of blogs to read?

7. Do you have more male or female friends?

8. If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?

9. How often do you use heat on your hair?

10. How long do you spend blogging (on average) per week?

11. What song means the most to you right now?

That’s all for now, goodbye little buns!
