Get Ready With Me | Beach day!

Hi Guys! With the weather (hopefully) getting warmer as the days go by, I thought I would show you my hair, make up and outfit for the beach! Little fact- I hate the beach, so if you’re like me and are trying to be really enthusiastic even though you don’t want to go, worry no further, I have you covered.

DSC_0286

I started with my usual B.Ready moisturiser which has SPF 15 in it to protect my skin from any sun damage. I also used my MAC strobe cream on my cheekbones, bridge of my nose, chin, cupids bow and the middle of my forehead. Pretty much anywhere where you would apply a highlighter.

DSC_0287

For my base I didn’t want anything too heavy so I used a little bit of my L’Oreal True Match foundation in “Rose Ivory” which also has SPF 17 for added protection. I then went in with some Revlon Colour Stay concealer to hide my (designer…I wish) bags. For a little extra coverage I used my busted MUA powder in shade 3- I think, just to give me a bit of colour!

DSC_0288

For bronzer, blusher and highlighter I used my Urban Decay Flushed palette in “Native”, it is so quick and easy and super pigmented! The bronzer is quite warm so as I contour my cheekbones I just make sure to blend it upwards so that it doesn’t look muddy and gives me that perfect sun kissed look!

DSC_0289

For my eyes I started with the Nars smudge proof eye shadow primer so that my eye shadow doesn’t disappear! I then FORGOT TO TAKE PICTURES (well done me) but used the Makeup Revolution Iconic Pro 1 palette and started with the colours “Fade” and “Must” in my crease and under my eyes. Then I popped “Luna” on my lid to brighten my eyes and used the George white eye liner in my waterline to also make me appear more awake than I actually am! To give my lashes more volume I used the NYC High Definition liquid eye liner and just made a thin line along my top lash line. Next I curled my lashes as per usual and coated them with the Benefit They’re Real mascara.

DSC_0290

I followed that with my normal brow routine but used a lot less product than usual because I didn’t want to look too ‘made up’ to go to the beach (ha, get it??).

DSC_0291

To finish my make up I used my NIvea Lip butter in caramel cream, I swear I could eat this, my Lacura lip liner (surprise, surprise) to neaten the perimeter of my lips and then my Tanya Burr lip gloss in “Picnic in the park”. Et voila!

DSC_0284

For my hair I kept it SUPER simple and just chucked it up in a bun because who wants sandy, tatty, wind swept hair? Not me.

DSC_0285

I also laughed far too much at how stripey my hair is.

For my outfit I used wore an old dress with a denim jacket because summer is not my thing and this is the only thing I own that is relatively summery. I also wore my cream high top converse and actually wore tan tights because I there is nothing that drives me more insane than sand sticking to your legs. And it meant I didn’t have to tan.

DSC_0283

And for anyone who is interested my nails are colour trend “scene” from Avon (and also very messy) with the diamond shatter top coat on my ring finger.

I hope you enjoyed this post and I helped you out in some way! I’m off to have a prom make up rehearsal for my cousin and her friend (wish me luck!) so I will see you on the other side! Goodbye for now little buns!

Review: MAC “False Lashes” Extreme Black Mascara

Hello everyone! Today I am going to be reviewing the Mac ‘False lashes extreme black mascara’ as it says right there^. Bit of a long name I know. I applied for the free sample of it and it arrived about a week later, without warning- I have to say I was a very happy girl.

But, is it worth the hype?

It has an “inky, mousse-like formula” and does feel very lightweight which I love. Even though it gives my lashes loads of length they don’t hit my glasses and surprisingly still look natural.

There is no distinct smell to this product which is nice because I don’t want anything smelly going anywhere near my eyes.

DSC_0239

As you can see it has quite a large brush but it isn’t overwhelming at all, even on my tiny eyes! One thing I would say though is that it is very easy for the mascara to transfer onto your eye lids (especially if they are hooded) when you first apply it because the formula is so wet.

Please ignore my eyebrows in these before and after pictures, I promise you they don’t look that drawn on in person!

DSC_0236

DSC_0237

The mascara made a huge difference to my bare eyelashes and even made me look more awake, despite those awful bags under my eyes!

Personally I don’t think that this mascara gives much volume but paired with a thin stroke of eye liner it looks simple and beautiful!

The only thing that I don’t like about this mascara is that it comes off so easily if you cry or have watery eyes, I was in work the other day and my chest was really killing which made my eyes water a bit and there was mascara all underneath my eyes, I looked like a panda…in pain. Not nice.

So what I have been doing is putting my usual maybelline ‘the rocket’ waterproof mascara over the top.

DSC_0241

This gives my lashes a little more volume and stops the mascara from escaping my lashes completely!

The MAC false lashes extreme black mascara retails at £19 which is a little steep but I would purchase it in a heartbeat if they had a waterproof option!

Overall I would rate this product an 8/10, the only ‘faults’ with it are that it isn’t waterproof and doesn’t give much volume, other than that though, I love it!

I hope you enjoyed this post and until next time, goodbye for now little buns!

How to: braided top knot

Hello everyone! Today I am doing something that I don’t do very often- a hair tutorial! I always look for videos on heatless hairstyles but they always have some of their hair out and if you’re like me and you wake up like this on a good day

DSC_0218

then I know you want all of your hair up and out of the way. So instead of chucking it up and ignoring it, we can spend that extra 5 minutes on making it look a little more put together.

I washed my hair yesterday and let it air dry so its just not feeling it. To give it a bit of I helping had I used a small amount of this oil to smooth over the frizz.

DSC_0219

If you also have wavy or curly hair, you can run your fingers through your hair with this so that you don’t have to brush it- I know the feels.

DSC_0220

Take a section from the top of your head and clip that up so that you can tie the rest of your hair out of the way. Then use the section you clipped up to create a french braid. You can do this by taking three small sections from the front, crossing the left over the middle and then crossing the right over the middle (so effectively as you are crossing them, that section is becoming the middle section). You want to repeat those steps but add a little bit of hair to the outer sections before you cross them over. Once you have finished picking up hair you can just braid it as normal and tie it off to keep it secure when we move on.

Next you want to grab all of your hair up into a pony tail at your desired height. You can take the bobble out of your braid once you have all of your hair tied up together like this;

DSC_0222

This by itself is also a really cute hairstyle if your hair is on top form so feel free to stop here. However I carried on and pulled my pony over my head and in front of my face so I could see it (just for ease really) and did a fish tail braid, this you do by making it two sections and taking a piece from the outside of one section and crossing it over and adding it to the other, then doing the same to the other section. Repeat that until you have reached the end of your hair, or how far your hair will allow you to go and then secure it with a mini hair elastic.

DSC_0223

Then all you need to do is wrap it round the bobble you used to create your pony and pin it in place so that you are left with something looking a little like this….after ‘hairspraying’ the crap out of any baby hairs that is!

DSC_0226

I hope that you found this post helpful and it gave you some ideas of how to switch up a regular top knot! Next week I have a very exciting post planned for Monday so keep an eye out for that one! Goodbye for now little buns!

Lunch date MOTD

Hi guys! Today I am going to be showing you my makeup of the day including my new makeup revolution iconic pro palette which is the PERFECT dupe for the smash box full exposure palette!

It has 8 matte eye shadows and 8 shimmer eye shadows and to be quite honest I am way too excited. The shadows themselves are very pigmented and easy to blend- it’s a yes from me.

Also when I say lunch date it is with a friend who is a girl so don’t get too excited.

I know you love my dressing gown. And I’m sorry that my eyebrow game is not strong today.

Let’s begin!

First I took Luna an swept it across the lid as a base for all my other shadows.

Then I took Must and blended that in the crease, up towards my brow and in my outer corner.

I then did the same using Drama but concentrated it more in my crease to fake a shadow there.

Next I used Afflicted in my outer corners and slightly through my crease to darken the look slightly.

I then popped Fade on the centre of my lid to keep it brighter than the rest but not too dramatic looking.

Instead I eye liner I used Pitch and smudged it into my lash line to create the look of thicker lashes.

As I my inner corner highlight I used the shade Ghost.

For my lower lash line I just used Drama along the whole of it and then blended Afflicted into the outer third.

After adding on some mascara I was done! Since I have had a lot of compliments from my friends on my go to lip recently I thought I would include it!

First I just used the body shop Mahogany lip liner on the perimeter of my lips.

Then I use the lacura  Frosty Lilac lip liner all over the top.

And to seal it in place I use the collection colour pout lip stain in the  dark purpley colour (the name has rubbed off!)

I also just realised that my lips got more lazy throughout those pictures… Oops!

But yeah I hope you liked this little MOTD/review/tutorial and I will see you next time! Goodbye for now little buns!

Maybelline Dream Flawless Nude Foundation Rmeview

Hey guys! Today I am going to be reviewing Maybelline’s new foundation that has a name that is far too long. Before I start, the kind woman at boots just gave me this to dry out, I didn’t get sent this or anything so my opinions are all genuine blah blah blah let’s start.

DSC_0231

So here is my face with nothing on it, apart from my new nose stud, HELLO! Yeah I got it done yesterday and I’m still super excited about it!

I didn’t use a primer or add a facial oil to the foundation which I have been doing for a while now because I really wanted to push this to the limits as my skin has been really dry at the minute. It looks a little better than usual as I have changed my skin care routine (Would you like to see an updated post on it?) however the winter weather is still drying it out.

The actual foundation is very thin, similar to the L’oreal eau de teint foundation which I really loved but unfortunately was too dark for me, like most foundations. Including this one. However the thin consistency made it super easy to blend out meaning that the colour matched me more with the less I actually used.

It is super lightweight and feels like you have nothing on (I just stroked my face to double check).

I would say that it is a light to medium coverage and is definitely buildable. It is very matt so if you have dry skin like me, don’t use a powder over top!

DSC_0233

As you can see it looks like powder on the skin so be very careful you don’t get cake face. Don’t mind the corner of my lip there, it’s kinda inflamed, sob.

Also, my camera battery died so my after picture is also a picture from about 5 hours later (I went to get my nails done and cleaned the house), but it still looks exactly the same!

DSC_0232

I also wore this foundation all day yesterday and it didn’t settle into any fine lines or dry spots by the time I’d took my make up off at around 10pm! I was super impressed with that! Out of 10 I would give this foundation an 8 just because I typically prefer a more dewy foundation and it is slightly orange toned.  *My nose stud just fell out as I pushed my glasses up and I just had to “repierce” it myself and I fainted and had to take a 20 minute break, just thought I’d let you know*
DSC_0237
I also got both an iphone 4s to replace my samsung brick and my nails done because hell it’s valentines day and if I don’t spoil myself then who’s going to?!
Anyway I’m going to go for a nap now because I can’t feel my legs. Goodbye for now little buns!

How to: Clean your room!

Hello everyone! Today I am going to give you some tips on cleaning your room, mainly because I needed to clean it and I’ve had a bit of a mental block and can’t think of what I want to post!

Here’s what my room looked like before (brace yourself)…

DSC_0215

DSC_0216

DSC_0217

So as you can see, I had a lot of work to do! You can also see that none of my room matches because I was waiting to get it redone after 7 years so I didn’t really mind about it not matching for a “few weeks” which turned into 6 months… SOME DAY

Before doing anything, I lit a candle and stuck some tunes on to keep me going. And when I say “some tunes” I mean the same few songs on repeat for an hour and a half because I am obsessed.

I started off by making my bed as that is in the centre (and takes up most of) my room so I’ll feel like I have made progress and won’t give up after 20 minutes.
So that I didn’t get too overwhelmed with it all and again give up after 20 minutes I decided to make a mental note of which order I was going to clean up in.
I started with the two tall drawers next to my wardrobe and binned things I didn’t need but for some reason I had kept, like Costa receipts, plastic bags and little notes. I then put away my sheet music, placed my jewellery on the other side of my room to deal with later and arranged everything in a nicer fashion. I then cleaned it with some tissue and polish because ew dust.
Then I moved onto my dressing table. It was in a pretty bad way. I started by putting away groups of things, for example my make up, then hair related things, then random things like a towel and Goat Simulator, and also two mirrors because for some reason I had three on my dresser as well as the big mirrors right in front of my face, why I don’t know. I then dedusted it (I’m making that a word..dedusted. So aggressive) and moved on to my chest of drawers next to my bed.
Fun fact, I used to think “a chest of drawers” were called “chester drawers”.
I started by putting away the various hand creams I had sprawled across it and moved the teddies back onto my bed. Then I sorted out my jewellery which I had just left in front of my 6 billion year old jewellery box rather than putting it in it and binned any of the gift boxes they had come in because they are lovely but I’m never going to need a cardboard box the size of half a fish finger. I then stuck some candles in front of my extension lead because although I need it out I don’t wanna see it! And obviously dedusted that too.
THEN I moved onto the floor. Not as in I just sat on the floor like “yep, that’s enough”, I just made that my last thing to do because I couldn’t see it as much as I could see all my ‘surfaces’.
I’m not sure if this is a common thing or not but when I’m putting away my washing I like to go through it and split it up into different, smaller piles that are easier to tackle than one big mound that’s been building up for weeks. For example, I split it up into underwear, socks and tights, T-shirts, leggings, pyjamas and then things that need hanging up. Then I can pick up the little piles and put them away in one go! Then I hoovered and changed my bin et voila! DONE

After…

DSC_0218

DSC_0219

DSC_0220
So then obviously I got myself a banana and some peanut butter to eat whilst I wrote this, it was nice. Also, for those who are interested in my progress since my last post, I have lost 4lbs! 😀

And for those interested in one of the songs I am obsessed with, it is “Get loney with me” by George Ezra who the lovely Fiona introduced me to. You should all check out her blog by the way, that’s another thing I’m obsessed with!! So that’s all for today, Goodbye for now little buns!

Glam eyes NYE look 2014!

Hello everyone! Today I am going to show you the make up that I will be wearing to end 2014 and start 2015! I’m not quite sure who’s party I am going to but I know I am going to one so the make up has got to be top notch.

After doing my usual skin care routine I mixed my MAC BB cream and L’oreal true match foundation, both in the lightest colour, and applied that to my face with the Real Techniques face sponge thing. I am really loving this foundation routine at the moment, it makes my face look so healthy and gives just the right amount of coverage.

Then I use my collection lasting perfection concealer to cover my under eyes and highlight my cheekbones, cupids bow, bridge of my nose and just in between my eyebrows. I blended this out with the same sponge and then went over with a teeny tiny bit of the Rimmel clear complexion face powder.

Then I used my Bourjois chocolate bronzer (surprise, surprise!) to contour, my new estee lauder blush in “plush petal” and my MAC mineralised skin finish in “lightscapade” to finish my face make up. I then did my normal eyebrow routine, which I do kinda wanna change up, before moving onto my eyes.

And because I’m an idiot I accidentally deleted all of the pictures of my make up apart from my eyes and full face, so unfortunately there are none along the way, apologies.

After applying my nars smudgeproof eyeshadow primer I grabbed my random MUA face powder and just swiped that over top to make blending easier. I also used some sellotape on the outer edge of my eye out towards my eyebrow to make it even easier.

I started with the “naked 2” shadow from the naked basics palette and used that in and above my crease. I then whipped out my smoked palette by Urban Decay and went in with “backdoor” in my crease to deepen that up a little bit. To exaggerate that even more I used “blackout” and put that in my outer corner too. I then used my L’oreal eyeshadow in “real silver” just on my eyelid and then used a clean (ish) blending brush to soften the edges. To blend that in to the outer corner I just used “mushroom” from the smoked palette as it is a dark shimmery sliver and gives such a smooth transition! I then used “venus” from the naked basics palette on the brow bone and “backdoor” again underneath the eyes and then that was it for the shadow!

After ripping off the sellotape (okay I wasn’t that violent) I used my maybelline black gel liner to create quite a thick winged liner so that I could go over the top with my collection glam eyes (see what I did there??) liner in “hustle”. I also kinda missed and coated my lashes too.

DSC_0188

DSC_0189

It annoys me how dull this looks. I am going out in the day time in a sparkly as hell smokey eye and my camera is like sorry nope. FIRST WORLD PROBLEMS.

Anyhoo then I added some of the maybelline rocket mascara to finish it off! I really love this mascara and because I got the waterproof one it doesn’t just decide to come off during the day (win!) however it is so difficult to take off.

DSC_0190

Do you like?

So, moving on to the lips I took the Max Factor lipstick in “midnight mauve” around the edges of my lips and in the outer corners and then filled the rest in with the collection deluxe lipstick in “speak easy”. To top it off I used my Tanya Burr lip gloss in “Aurora” et voila!

lips

Literally the most subtle thing known to man but I feel like my lips look a little bit nicer.

DSC_0192

DSC_0196

DSC_0197

I always feel like my make up doesn’t look how it does in person so I took three pictures in different lighting so hopefully you can see how the make up looks! It was also super difficult to try and pull the exact same face.

Okey dokes so this is the make up I will be wearing on New Years Eve! I hope you enjoyed this post and have an amazing time. Please stay safe and I will talk to you in the new year! Good bye for now little buns!
