WHY

Okay so I was having a fab time when I found a “beauty outlet” shop with Stila products that were practically half price, I grabbed a ton of it and just before paying texted my mum to check if it was vegan.

But no, they decide to rub make up in little bunnies eyes to make sure we can slap it on our face. When did our vanity become more important than an animals quality of life? It pisses me right off.

But anyway I got some B. face wipes which I ran out of decades ago so my face will thank me for that.

I’m thinking of doing a giveaway at 250 followers, what kind of things would you be interested in? Let me know!

Goodbye for now little buns!

Review: Superdrug sensitive wax strips

Hi everyone! Sorry for the short delay in posts, I feel like I have ran out of ideas! However the other day I decided to test out these wax strips so that if they were any good I could use them before I go on holiday.

The strips are super easy to use, you just warm them in between your hands for about 30 seconds, pull them apart and then slap it on your leg! Then just leave it until you think the wax has properly gripped and rip it off in the opposite direction of your hair growth.

The pain is just kind of annoying, like when you graze your knee, but if it only lasted for like 10 seconds. They come with soothing wipes which are quite oily so don’t rub any areas you haven’t waxed yet.

I felt like not much hair was eliminated and was kind of pissed off that I had to do the other leg (it takes a while) to even them out. I still ended up shaving my leg afterwards.

One thing I would say is that as my leg hair has grown back there is obviously a lot less of it so my legs still feel pretty smooth.

I’m sure these were only like £3 a pack and I still have more than one packet left after doing up to my knee on both legs, I would try these again but only if I felt it was absolutely necessary.

Have you tried these out? Or any other at home waxing kits? Let me know in the comments! Goodbye for now little buns!

Get Ready With Me | Beach day!

Hi Guys! With the weather (hopefully) getting warmer as the days go by, I thought I would show you my hair, make up and outfit for the beach! Little fact- I hate the beach, so if you’re like me and are trying to be really enthusiastic even though you don’t want to go, worry no further, I have you covered.

DSC_0286

I started with my usual B.Ready moisturiser which has SPF 15 in it to protect my skin from any sun damage. I also used my MAC strobe cream on my cheekbones, bridge of my nose, chin, cupids bow and the middle of my forehead. Pretty much anywhere where you would apply a highlighter.

DSC_0287

For my base I didn’t want anything too heavy so I used a little bit of my L’Oreal True Match foundation in “Rose Ivory” which also has SPF 17 for added protection. I then went in with some Revlon Colour Stay concealer to hide my (designer…I wish) bags. For a little extra coverage I used my busted MUA powder in shade 3- I think, just to give me a bit of colour!

DSC_0288

For bronzer, blusher and highlighter I used my Urban Decay Flushed palette in “Native”, it is so quick and easy and super pigmented! The bronzer is quite warm so as I contour my cheekbones I just make sure to blend it upwards so that it doesn’t look muddy and gives me that perfect sun kissed look!

DSC_0289

For my eyes I started with the Nars smudge proof eye shadow primer so that my eye shadow doesn’t disappear! I then FORGOT TO TAKE PICTURES (well done me) but used the Makeup Revolution Iconic Pro 1 palette and started with the colours “Fade” and “Must” in my crease and under my eyes. Then I popped “Luna” on my lid to brighten my eyes and used the George white eye liner in my waterline to also make me appear more awake than I actually am! To give my lashes more volume I used the NYC High Definition liquid eye liner and just made a thin line along my top lash line. Next I curled my lashes as per usual and coated them with the Benefit They’re Real mascara.

DSC_0290

I followed that with my normal brow routine but used a lot less product than usual because I didn’t want to look too ‘made up’ to go to the beach (ha, get it??).

DSC_0291

To finish my make up I used my NIvea Lip butter in caramel cream, I swear I could eat this, my Lacura lip liner (surprise, surprise) to neaten the perimeter of my lips and then my Tanya Burr lip gloss in “Picnic in the park”. Et voila!

DSC_0284

For my hair I kept it SUPER simple and just chucked it up in a bun because who wants sandy, tatty, wind swept hair? Not me.

DSC_0285

I also laughed far too much at how stripey my hair is.

For my outfit I used wore an old dress with a denim jacket because summer is not my thing and this is the only thing I own that is relatively summery. I also wore my cream high top converse and actually wore tan tights because I there is nothing that drives me more insane than sand sticking to your legs. And it meant I didn’t have to tan.

DSC_0283

And for anyone who is interested my nails are colour trend “scene” from Avon (and also very messy) with the diamond shatter top coat on my ring finger.

I hope you enjoyed this post and I helped you out in some way! I’m off to have a prom make up rehearsal for my cousin and her friend (wish me luck!) so I will see you on the other side! Goodbye for now little buns!

How to: braided top knot

Hello everyone! Today I am doing something that I don’t do very often- a hair tutorial! I always look for videos on heatless hairstyles but they always have some of their hair out and if you’re like me and you wake up like this on a good day

DSC_0218

then I know you want all of your hair up and out of the way. So instead of chucking it up and ignoring it, we can spend that extra 5 minutes on making it look a little more put together.

I washed my hair yesterday and let it air dry so its just not feeling it. To give it a bit of I helping had I used a small amount of this oil to smooth over the frizz.

DSC_0219

If you also have wavy or curly hair, you can run your fingers through your hair with this so that you don’t have to brush it- I know the feels.

DSC_0220

Take a section from the top of your head and clip that up so that you can tie the rest of your hair out of the way. Then use the section you clipped up to create a french braid. You can do this by taking three small sections from the front, crossing the left over the middle and then crossing the right over the middle (so effectively as you are crossing them, that section is becoming the middle section). You want to repeat those steps but add a little bit of hair to the outer sections before you cross them over. Once you have finished picking up hair you can just braid it as normal and tie it off to keep it secure when we move on.

Next you want to grab all of your hair up into a pony tail at your desired height. You can take the bobble out of your braid once you have all of your hair tied up together like this;

DSC_0222

This by itself is also a really cute hairstyle if your hair is on top form so feel free to stop here. However I carried on and pulled my pony over my head and in front of my face so I could see it (just for ease really) and did a fish tail braid, this you do by making it two sections and taking a piece from the outside of one section and crossing it over and adding it to the other, then doing the same to the other section. Repeat that until you have reached the end of your hair, or how far your hair will allow you to go and then secure it with a mini hair elastic.

DSC_0223

Then all you need to do is wrap it round the bobble you used to create your pony and pin it in place so that you are left with something looking a little like this….after ‘hairspraying’ the crap out of any baby hairs that is!

DSC_0226

I hope that you found this post helpful and it gave you some ideas of how to switch up a regular top knot! Next week I have a very exciting post planned for Monday so keep an eye out for that one! Goodbye for now little buns!

How I whitened my teeth! (and review)

Hi guys! This has been a very long awaited post and I just decided that now is the time to do it. I know this all sounds very dramatic and like I’m moving half way across the world or something but I have a lot of teeth and corner of my mouth (they get very dry.. not my teeth, the corners of my mouth) insecurities so please be gentle…

So, getting on with the post! There is absolutely no surprise as to what I used to whiten my teeth as I think everyone and their dog has used these.

DSC_0207

TA DAAa- how surprised are you? Come on, I know there was a little gasp somewhere. As you can see these are the crest 3D white luxe professional effects whitening strips. That was a mouthful and a half. I chose these ones as they remove 14 years of stains and me being 18 next week, that’s like three quarters of my life. and in case you couldn’t tell- I have a couple scars on my teeth from when I was a baby and I fell over and my teeth went through my bottom lip, yep.

The box arrived a little battered because it had travelled from America but the contents of it were fine so I’m not too bothered.

DSC_0208

You get 20 sets of strips in total and as you can tell I have “used” 14. I use the term used kind of loosely because the last four times I have done it it has hurt and I have had to remove the strips immediately. Not so good. However, I don’t think I have used them in at least 7 months and my teeth have stayed white which is great!

You just pop them on the front of your teeth and then fold them underneath. Leave them for half an our before you take them off and then boom you’re done! I wash my mouth out afterwards to get rid of any gel that has stuck to my teeth and then I just carry on with my day.

Obviously you cannot eat whilst you’re wearing them but drinking water is fine (and quite refreshing) whilst you have them on.

So here is the before-

DSC_0173

Aaaand the after

DSC_0183

I know that the first one was taken with the flash on because I took it when I got them (my birthday last year) but hey what can you do about it. Also its really difficult to smile and show your top and bottom teeth without looking like a bit of a weirdo.

As you can tell my teeth are significantly whiter and my scar on my front tooth is a lot less noticeable than it was (YAY). In between my two front teeth is still a little dark but its confusing because its also a little gap so there is always a shadow as well.

I do plan on using the rest of the strips but I am just going to use them on the odd occasion as my teeth are naturally really sensitive. Like, watching someone bite ice cream makes me cringe.

Overall I would give these whitening strips a 7 out of 10- I knocked points off because of the fact that it began to be painful, they taste a bit funny and I think they’re about £50-£60. I know that it is cheap compared to getting your teeth professionally whitened but for that price I want them not to hurt and the box to be well packaged.

So that is all for today, Goodbye for now little buns!

How to: Curly blow dry

Hi everyone! Today I am going to be showing you how to do a curly blow dry at home- and just as a word of warning, this will take a while so if you’re like me and very impatient, with very thick hair, you’re best just to blast it off and curl it.

You will need-

1. To wash your hair

DSC_0206

If anyone is interested I used the Aussie Miracle Moist shampoo & conditioner and my herbal essences bee strong masque!
I also really should have cropped my face out I mean what the hell Chloe.

2. LOADS OF PRODUCTS WOOHOO

DSC_0218

Okay like three, but whatever. I used my Mane ‘n’ tail hair strengthener because we all know my hair needs a lil TLC. I then used the cloud nine quick dry potion (also a heat protector) for obvious reasons and then my ‘argan oil of morocco’ because it says that it is a penetrating oil rather than the normal ones that just coat your hair so I mean why not.

3) Brushes

DSC_0219

Erm I only just realised that I have lost my 14 so I am just going for the whole uneven naturalish look now- and to do that I’m using my 13 and 15 brushes by Head jog. I would really recommend these brushes because they are ceramic so they heat up and act like rollers too!

4. A trusty clip (and some bobby pins)

DSC_0220

I really like to use these clips by Cloud nine because they are strong. One can hold up all of my hair- and I have a lot of hair.

5. A hair dryer (duh)

DSC_0221

I use this one by Haito purely because it came in my kit when I was in college but I actually really like it. I like that it has 3 heat settings, as well as a cool setting and 2 speeds- and the fast one is REALLY fast. The only thing is that the back seems to fall off a lot but I just stuck a piece of cellotape over it as I will only need to remove it when I’m cleaning it.

LETS BEGIN.

Firstly you just want to blast off your hair a little bit just so that you aren’t starting with soaking wet hair.

1a

Then, section off the bottom section of your hair and split it in to two. Place your brush underneath the section of hair and move downwards (like you would when you brush your hair..) whilst rotating the brush and follow it with your hair dryer. I wouldn’t advice placing your nozzle directly onto your hair because that could cause some damage. Then as you get to the ends of your hair, make sure that you have a grip on them and rotate the brush so that your hair rolls round it, be careful not to get tangled up in this bit- when I was younger I had to cut a brush out of my hair, I know the feels.

1b

1c

1d

You can redo this as many times as you need to so that your hair is dry and you have a bouncy curl- obviously with a smaller brush you are going to get a tighter curl so I like to change brush size with each section so that the curls don’t form together.

DSC_0209

Leave your brush in to let it cool and then unroll it and ‘reroll’ it into a (very rough) pin curl so that the curls don’t drop whilst you are blow drying the rest of your hair.

For the back/top sections, still place your brush underneath the hair but direct it forwards, over your head and towards your face, this will give your hair more volume and will make it easier to blow dry the sections that are riiiiight at the back of your head

DSC_0215

DSC_0216

Once you’re done you should look like a mad wo/man. You can leave the pin curls in whilst you do your make up or watch another episode of Ru Pauls Drag Race however I had to take these out pretty much straight away as my friend was coming over. Once you’re done you should be left with something like this

DSC_0217

I hope you enjoyed this how to! And to those wondering where I’ve been the past few weeks (again- I know, I’m sorry) everything’s been quite difficult whilst I’m waiting for my new therapist and I have had a complete mental block when it comes to thinking of a new post, and when I think of something I always talk myself out of it and convince myself that it will be boring but this time I thought NOPE I’M GONNA DO IT.

Sooo yeah- also, I had to get rid of my hamster because I’m allergic to it (or its wee)

it was called Peaches for two weeks until I handed her over to my cousin so that I can still go and see her! However my Mum said I can get guinea pigs as they are kept outside rather than right next to my head! Until next time- goodbye for now little buns!
