Autumn walks make up look!

Hello my lovelies! I hope you’re all having a great day, today I am going to show you how I got this-

– makeup look, keep reading!

Here’s my wonderful “before face”, moisturised, primed and ready to rumble. I also applied a bit of the benefit high beam to all of the high points of my face to give that ‘glowing from within’ look.

I then mixed together the Georgio Armani and Illamasqua foundations to give me the right amount of coverage without completely covering every imperfection.

Next I concealed and highlighted with my MAC pro longwear concealer in NC15 and set that with my Rimmel clear complexion powder.

To contour I used the Bourjois ‘chocolate bronzer’ and applied that quite generously to the hollows of my cheekbones, forehead, under my lip and under my jawline. For blush I just used the Estee Lauder ‘plush petal’ and applied it mainly towards the back of my cheeks to keep my face looking lifted. I then highlighted using the makeup revolution vivid baked highlighter in ‘golden lights’ to fake that I am a golden goddess.

I then built up the two matte brown colours in my crease and outer corner of my eyes to make them look more smokey and sultry.

I then added the darker toned pink shimmery colour to the outer side of my lids and the lighter pink shimmery colour on the inner third.

Then I placed the matte brown colours underneath my eye, added a white eyeliner on my water line, and thin black liner on my top lash line and also some small dots in my bottom lash line to make my lashes look thicker.

Like so!

I then filled in my brows with the anastasia dip brow pomade in ‘dark brown’ and applied both the Benefit roller lash and the maybelline ‘the rocket’ waterproof mascara and moved on to lips!

I first chucked on the body shop ‘mahogany’ lip liner- shocker! But it makes my lips look huge so it’s okay

Then for a bit of gloss for those ‘kissable’ lips I added the Elizabeth Arden lip gloss in ‘latte’.

Then after spending forever messing with my hair (it ended up in a braid, since we actually went the beach..in October) I was ready to go!

I hope you enjoyed this post and I look forward to speaking to you again soon! Goodbye for now little buns!

beauty, christmas, make up, makeup

Quick & easy Christmas Make up look 2014!

I said I’d get this post up today and I have. WOOHOO GO ME! Better late than never, eh? So anyway, make up. I know I said I’d have two looks but I wasn’t very happy with the second one so I’ll just skim over that bit quickly…

For my base I started with my Nivea moisturiser just to shake things up a bit and then slapped on my new MAC BB cream with my fingers because I really wanted to test it. Then I used my usual collection concealer to conceal (duh) and highlight and then used a darker concealer from my no name concealer palette to contour.

After all that faffing I moved onto my powder make up things… I used my sleek blush in “flushed”, my bourjois chocolate bronzer and my MAC mineralised skin finish in “lightscapade” to finish off my face make up, I didn’t wear a face powder because my skin always gets really dry in the winter so I don’t really need one.

Moving onto eyes…

I started by using my nars smudgeproof eye shadow primer and then packed on my two L’oreal gold single eye shadows, not forgetting to put some on my inner corner too. I then used “darkhorse from my mini Urban Decay palette and blended that in my outer corners, crease and underneath my bottom lash line along with the gold colours. Next I created a cute lil wing with my maybelline black gel liner. Then I used my Maybelline great lash and my clinique bottom lash mascara to top it all off. Simples!

I then did my usual eyebrow routine with my Benefit Brow Zings and Maybelline Brow Drama and popped on The Body Shop “crazy sexy crimson” lipstick and et voila! I also tried this look out with my MAC “sultana” patent polish lip pencil and my Max Factor “mulberry” lipstick and I love how that came out too.

make of the cups

I’m so sorry about the bags under my eyes by the way, my job has taken away every ounce of energy I had.

And just for the lols here is the other make up look that turned out to be a w f u l but hey, I tried. The eye shadow doesn’t look red at all and my lipstick is far too brown for my liking. I wasn’t quite sure how I could salvage the eye shadow, I think I got a little bit too excited.

And since this posted ended up being shorter than I imagined, here is some stuff I just bought- YAY!

I will be testing out the Real Techniques “beauty blender” style sponge and using the maybelline The Rocket mascara and collection Glam eyes glitter liner in my New Years Eve look. I’m no longer off on New Years Eve though so that post will probably be up on the Sunday after Christmas. I plan to post on Christmas day but if something gets in the way (aka I nap longer than usual) I hope you all have an amazing Christmas and stay safe! Oooh whilst I’m here, I also applied for X Factor…GOODBYE FOR NOW LITTLE BUNS! ❤

November Favourites 2014!

Hey guys! I apologise for my absence, I’ve had a busy couple weeks. Literally, if I haven’t been in work, I’ve been in the doctors- YAY!

(Quick lil update- turns out I have stress induced asthma which is making my anxiety worse and I have to ring somewhere today to be put on the list for a councillor and I’ve been for blood test after blood test because I was sick the first time and then they were like “You need to come in tomorrow, there’s something wrong with your bloods” and I was like omg I’m dying but no I’m all good.)

Okay so, my first favourites are two lipsticks that are perfect for the Autumn/Winter time.

If you are a good little bun and read my posts (thank you, thank you!!) you will have seen these two before. The one chilling on the left is “125-crazy sexy crimson” by The Body Shop and the lovely gold one to the right is “685-mulberry” by Max Factor. They are both deep colours that look beautiful opaque and sheer.

When applied “Mulberry” has a gorgeous metallic sheen to it and the staying power is unreal. I recently wore this on our works night out and after greasy garlic bread (to keep the boys away…I wish) it still looked flawless! My friend actually asked me how many times I had reapplied it and when I said I hadn’t she was gob-smacked! This is the only Max Factor lippy I own but I’m sure I will have many more in my collection shortly…

“Crazy sexy crimson” doesn’t have quite as much staying power but the name is enough for me. The colour is slightly lighter than it looks on the bullet but if you conceal your natural lips and/or apply a dark liner it is such a perfect vampy colour.

Sticking with lips, this has been my absolute saviour as the weather is growing colder. By now I normally have the worst chapped lips ever but not this year! I have been using carmex in the morning and night and then either my usual blistex or nivea throughout the day and I have noticed an improvement in the softness of my lips, not like I need them to be soft but it makes me feel better knowing that they are.

Moving on to eyes, I have been loving this “Metallic Pomegranate” colour tattoo by Maybelline. It is very long wearing but one thing I would say is that if you blend it out too much you lose the majority of the colour, you can layer it but just be careful with the blending.

Now this was obviously going to feature in this post. The Naked 3 palette is the most amazing palette for Autumn/Winter with the rosey theme. Not to mention that the eyeshadows are so pigmented and blend out like a dream. My favourites in the palette are “Limit” (which I use to blend out everything), “Burnout”, “Factory” and “Dark horse”- I just can’t stop using them!

brow zings

After not using much on my eyebrows because I’m lazy I have rediscovered my Brow Zings by Benefit. Like my eyebrows are now always ON FLEEK, And the best part is that they still look natural but just less bald. I thought there was only one way to use this but I have seen a lot of people use it differently so, the way I use it is:

Brush le brows into place with a spoolie, then use the angled brush provided to draw on your brows with the gel, keep all the hairs in line and provide a base so that they are easier to perfect with the powder. Then with another angled brush I dip it in the powder and make quick little strokes to imitate brow hairs but at the same time you want the outline to be neat. Because I have almost no hairs on the end of my eyebrows I just press my brush on the end so that the powder sticks to the gel. And THEN I just use my Maybelline brow drama to make sure they don’t move. That was very hard to explain but I hope you got it.

I have three face things I like this month, the first one being the B. Replenished facial oil. It’s kinda meant for people with more “mature” skin but since my skin gets super dry I wanted to try it out. You only need two drops of the stuff and I have no eczema in sight so I am really happy with this! It also smells so fresh.

Then for some more moisture I have been using this simple moisture boost hydro mist whenever I feel like it really. You can use this under and over make up which I love because sometimes I just need a little spritz in the cold weather.

We were all waiting for this one, weren’t we? I think I have genuinely used this every day since I bought it, its such a subtle but beautiful highlight which is perfect all year round for that healthy glow. Even if you aren’t as pale as a ghost I think you would still love this.

I have one hair product that I have really enjoyed this month, this is the Toni&Guy “Sea salt texturising spray”. It just makes my natural waves look a little bit more like I did them on purpose, you know? It does make my hair feel a little chalky but I just go over it with some oil if it’s really bugging me.

I had to include this because for some reason I really don’t feel Christmassy at all but this helped today. It also looks super cool in your bath.

I feel kinda bad because I like that Santa looks like he’s melting away but it’s SO COOL.

It also smells amazing, as per usual for lush. It’s weirdly festive because it’s quite ‘citrusy’ but I love it. I have a feeling I will be returning to lush to buy more. Not to mention it made my skin feel amazing.

And lastly, my favourite songs of November have been:

Ed Sheeran- Thinking out loud (MY GOD THE FEELS)
Taylor Swift- Blank Space
One Direction- Steal my Girl and Night Changes, purely for the video.

aaand one that I never thought I would like because it is so musically incorrect,
Meghan Trainor- All about that bass

So that’s it for today! I hope you liked this post, if you did don’t forget to actually click the little like button because it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Once again don’t forget to check me out on soundcloud. Goodbye for now little buns!

Get pampered and ready with me!

Hi guys! I’ve had a pretty busy few weeks so I thought that today I would relax and take a little time to focus on myself.

I took inspiration from Carli Bybel and started by making myself a smoothie to make me feel good on the inside.

For this I used frozen rhubarb, one banana, one kiwi, a ton of spinach, a splodge of honey and a little bit of milk and water to make it creamy but not be just dairy. Sometimes I use unsweetened soy or almond milk but I wanted the calcium today sooo yeah. It tastes super yummy and refreshing so is great first thing in the morning or any other time when you need a little pick-me-up.

I then used the Herbal Essences Bee Strong hair mask and my fave Avon Pore Penetrating Mineral Face Mask and sat on my bed with my big fluffy dressing gown on whilst I let them do their magic. I like to catch up on any missed blog posts or youtube videos during this time, at the minute I am really loving this baes blog (and her new hair).

See? There I am, chilling.

After washing off my face mask I used this hand treatment that I found for 99p! You just leave the gloves on for 20 minutes et voila! I just rubbed in what was left on my hands and then rinsed off the excess because I had been rubbing my hands for ages.

While running my bath I decided to have breakfast food for lunch because it is my favourite. I just made some porridge and added a teaspoon of chocolate spread and then a sliced a banana, cinnamon, cocoa powder, a drizzle of honey and some chunky peanut butter on top. SO GOOD

I decided to use the last purchase from my lush haul which is the “Granny Takes A Dip” bath bomb. I’m gonna miss smelling this every time I open my drawer. It is so ‘citrusy’ and spicy, I could eat it.

It also looks amazing as you pop it into your bath, the colour literally explodes, however my bath just looked pink rather than a mix of the different colours.

Its still super lovely and makes my skin feel amazing though! I then tidied up my eyebrows and put my make up on before drying my hair and throwing it up into a bun.

You can hardly see my eye shadow here but I will put a picture up on my insta if you want to see my make up on a worse camera but not as washed out.

I then took a little trip to the shops and bought some things for Christmas so lemme just show you them real quick.

I got 2 big snowmen and 1 santa from Thorntons to go with peoples gifts, they were half price AND on 3 for 2- so £10 all together!!!

I then got my Mum some tea lights to give her them on Christmas Eve and then two samplers for my room.

Then I picked my cousin up some make up for her to play with as she’s only 12 but being related to me she loves make up. I have the Heaven & Earth palette from MUA and the pigmentation is amazing so I thought that she would love this.

And since everything was on 3 for 2 I bought myself some early Christmas presents. I will probably review the B. Replenished facial oil, I think that it will be my saviour with this cold weather but we will see! This lip combo is so vampy and dark, I have a feeling I am going to wear this all the time in winter.

Its like the perfect amount of purple and red. If you want to recreate this it is, Max Factor “Mulberry” lipstick and Collection “Damson” lip liner.

And that is about it! I am just going to go for my singing lesson now and just chill later on and watch I’m a Celeb- I also bet my Mum that Gemma would go out in the first week, she owes me a pound. Goodbye for now little buns!

How to: remove acrylics at home!

So you got your acrylics and you were in love with them, that was until you realised that you can hardly function and they are now an inch away from your cuticle. And  if you’re anything like me, you want them off right this second.

Here’s a little before picture because that’s what you’e supposed to include, right?

First things first, chop off all the excess acrylic because there’s no point in being careful, just get rid.

The next thing I like to do, especially with darker colours, is remove as much of the nail varnish as I can. This stops the acetone from turning into the colour of your nail varnish and having to change it.

Then use a nail file to buff over the top of it and start to remove the top layer. I like to do this with a bin balanced in between my knees so there isn’t powdered acrylic everywhere, you’ll also want to wash your hands after this.

I then just repeated the same step.

Then just place your fingers into either pure acetone or a concentrated acetone solution for ten minutes. I like to have a long youtube video playing so that I’m not just sat around like “IS IT DONE YET?!”.

Then use a cuticle pusher upper thing to scrape off all the gloopy bits of acrylic and we’re done!

Okay so that’s it for today, no I’m just kidding, do the same again for 5 minutes. You might need to repeat it one more time but it just depends.

Then you get to the stage where there is still acrylic on your nails but it just won’t budge. If you wanna dip them back in the acetone then you can but I just don’t have the patience.

You then just want to use a nail file to get rid of some of the chunky, stubborn bits of acrylic and then use any old buffer block to make sure that your nails are super smooth. I can never get every last bit of acrylic off but it doesn’t bother me too much as long as my nails are smooth so that you can’t tell as they’ll probably have grown out within a month or two.

Finally just put on some clear nail varnish and you’re good to go, however I would always suggest putting nail varnish on!

I just threw on Barry M’s “Poppy” silk nail varnish, literally threw it on. I always get a shower on the days I paint my nails to clean them up because I’m a cheat- yay!

Just before I finish, look at the cute “outfit” I just bought…

I can’t wait to go Christmas shopping and look hella cute.

FYI all of this was from Matalan so if you want any of it nip in now- the coat was on offer for £35!! I couldn’t believe it! I think they have this particular one in cream as well and some other very similar ones in pastel colours, so adorable.

Anyhoo, I’m super sick right now so I’m gonna go and sleep for a bit before tea, goodbye for now little buns!

September Favourites 2014!

Hey guys! I can’t believe that September is nearly over already! It feels like this year has absolutely flown by! Since Autumn is my favourite season I thought it would be a great time to do my first ever monthly favourites. So go and grab a nice hot chocolate and snuggle up for a good read.

My favourite (new) song this month has got to be ‘Shake it off‘ by the one and only Taylor Swift. I love how its basically just a massive f*ck you to everyone who has ever criticised her, and it is soooo catchy. Another song I have been loving this month is ‘When I was your man‘ by Bruno Mars, I don’t know why I have grown to love it so much this particular month but I can’t stop singing it.

This month I got my job at the hairdressers, so why not talk about some hair things that I have been loving? I have particularly enjoyed Avons ‘Advance Techniques Moroccan Argan Oil‘. It smells so amazing and makes my hair feel super smooth. It also helps to tame any fly-aways I may have! I have also been wearing my hair in French or Dutch braids constantly. Its so easy to wear them day or night and then take them out and have a lovely heat-less wavy hairstyle! When using heat I have been using the Toni&Guy ‘Heat Protection Mist‘, it smells pretty pleasant and doesn’t make my hair sticky like the last one I used (I’m looking at you Schwarzkopf).

One make-up product I have been loving this September is the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette, it’s just so great for an every-day or evening look, Autumn/Winter time in particular. Each shadow is so pigmented and smooth to the touch. Whenever I’m stuck for make-up ideas I always reach for this palette. If you are looking for a great high end palette, this is the one. My favourite lipstick for fall, which also happens to be the one I am wearing in the picture above, is the Rimmel Kate Moss matt lipstick in 107. It is not drying on my lips in the slightest and is the perfect lip colour for the colder weather.

There are two things in the ‘food&drink’ category that I have been addicted to this September. Numero uno is red pepper hummus. I just can’t get enough of it! On sandwiches, crackers, veggies, anything. Another thing I have been loving is hot chocolate, particularly the Cadbury hot chocolate. It’s just so smooth and creamy, it instantly makes me feel all warm and cosy.

My favourite item of clothing this month has been my care bear onesie, which I only got last week, but I have been wearing it as often as I can. It is so comfortable (and pink!!) AND part of the money goes to helping women with breast cancer.

There is one shop that I have not been able to stay out of this month…Lush. I don’t actually have baths all that often, but when I do, a lush product makes an appearance. The smells are just, wow. And my skin always feels amazing afterwards. I have never had any product that has irritated my skin and they fight against animal testing. Also, everyone who works there is an absolute babe. I always feel so welcome in Lush!

I didn’t know if I was going to include this because it’s so difficult trying to decide but here it is, my favourite youtuber of September…Arden Rose. I just love this woman so much. I just love her attitude and sense of humour. She is also so incredibly pretty it’s unreal.

And last but not least is my favourite app. Instagram. I don’t know what it is but recently I just cant get off it. I can sit scrolling through it for hours on end, I’m just so nosey.

So that’s it for today! I don’t know when I will be posting again this week, it might have to be Sunday, but if so then I will see you then! If you cant wait that long then I am always active on my social media in the evenings (plug plug plug)

……or you can always take a cheeky listen on Soundcloud

Goodbye for now little buns!

How to: Recover from a broken nail

Guess who’s back (back, back), back again (gain, gain) Chloe’s back (back, back), tell a friend… Okay no seriously tell all your friends. They should come visit me too.

ANYWHOOOO, you may have seen on my instagram that I was cleaning my room before and broke a nail, *sigh*. I don’t think I have ever seen a blog post about broken nails so here I am, #trendsetter.

I’m just going to slip in a little disclaimer here. I am not a nail technician nor are my nails the most perfect things you have ever seen. I can’t even paint my nails without painting all the skin around them. Okay so now that you can’t hold anything against me, let’s begin.

Here’s the “before” picture, wasn’t really thinking about the background all that much at this point in time, please forgive me.

If you just stumbled across this post and want to do it along with me, here are the things you will need:

  • nail clippers
  • nail file
  • nail buffer
  • hardening base and top coat
  • any nail polish of your choice.

That last one is optional but everyone likes painted nails, don’t they?
The first thing you want to do is cry. Okay I’m joking but seriously like I grew them myself and was so proud and then the end just flung off, what else do you expect me to do?

Start by clipping off all of the other nails that you spent so long trying to grow, you might also want to cry a bit when you do this. They don’t have to be neat at all, just shorten them so that your broken nail blends in more.

Then use your nail file to neaten them up, make sure that there are no sharp edges, and eliminate any thin parts of the nail that are also prone to breakage.

Then use a nail buffer to smooth over your nails. Pay particular attention to the bottom of the broken nail so that there is no distinct change in texture as layers of the nail may be missing from where it has snapped off unevenly.

Then you just want to paint them- neater than I can. I just used the Barry M “3-in-1 nail hardener, base coat and top coat” and then the new(!) Barry M gelly nail polish in “Cardamom”. So Autumn.

I hope I helped someone out there, even if it was 1 of 7 billion people that could possibly have read this. (If that is you, you’re so welcome).

As you have all probably been able tell by now, I love Barry M nail polishes. Would you guys like to see my collection or is that just boring? Just let me know and if so I will have it up asap. Have a great day/night/week/month/life. Goodbye for now little buns!

-psssst, I have soundcloud!-
