Day time spring make up look! | Collaboration with BeautifulBreakable

Hey Everyone! Today I have a pretty exciting (well, for me anyway!) collab for you guys! Along with the amazing Jess from Beautiful, Breakable I have created a spring make up look. I chose to create the day look and Jess chose to create the night look, so go over to her blog to check it out!

So, let’s begin!

DSC_0229

For my base I used my regular moisturiser from B and mixed that with my MAC strobe cream to ensure a dewy finish. I then mixed my L’oreal True Match foundation and my Illamasqua skin base together to make the perfect full coverage foundation that will stay on all day! To conceal and highlight I used my MAC pro longwear concealer in NC15.

To set that all in place I used my colour correcting peals from Avon, they will also help you give you the perfect dewy finish!

DSC_0230

To give some colour to my skin and contour I used the second shade down on the right of the palette. I just popped this underneath my cheekbones, lightly down either side of my nose, along the top of my forehead, under my lip and under my jaw line. So pretty much everywhere. I also used the peach blush from this make up revolution palette to give me that healthy complexion.

DSC_0231

For my highlighter I used this gold looking baked highligher from make up revolution. I placed this on my cheekbones, chin, brow bone, cupids bow, a little on the bridge of my nose and also used it as my inner corner highlight on my eyes. It gives a beautiful sheen and is more subtle and therefore suitable for day time.

DSC_0233

To create my simple eye look I used the maybelline colour tattoo in “on and on bronze” and slightly blended that out. Then I lined my upper lash line with the Barry M ‘Blink’ waterproof eyeliner. Next I used the maybelline chromatics eye liner in “turn on the teal” for my waterline and blended that out slightly using a small detailed brush with a bit of my sleek “sahara” blush on it (not pictured…oops!). To finish I curled my lashed and used my Maybelline The Rocket waterproof eye liner. I really didn’t plan for my eyes to be nearly all maybelline but they know what they are doing on the eye-front!

DSC_0234

For my brows I used my Anastasia dip brow in “dark brown” and my Maybelline brow drama in “medium brown”.

DSC_0235

To finish the look off I just used my Tanya Burr lipgloss in “picnic in the park”. Et voila!

I hope you enjoyed this post and have some ideas for your perfect spring make up, don’t forget to hop over to Jess’ blog and check out her make up look!  You can also see my dress for my birthday party in the background… and a splodge of hairspray on my glasses. Well done me. But anyway- until next time..Goodbye for now little buns!

How to: braided top knot

Hello everyone! Today I am doing something that I don’t do very often- a hair tutorial! I always look for videos on heatless hairstyles but they always have some of their hair out and if you’re like me and you wake up like this on a good day

DSC_0218

then I know you want all of your hair up and out of the way. So instead of chucking it up and ignoring it, we can spend that extra 5 minutes on making it look a little more put together.

I washed my hair yesterday and let it air dry so its just not feeling it. To give it a bit of I helping had I used a small amount of this oil to smooth over the frizz.

DSC_0219

If you also have wavy or curly hair, you can run your fingers through your hair with this so that you don’t have to brush it- I know the feels.

DSC_0220

Take a section from the top of your head and clip that up so that you can tie the rest of your hair out of the way. Then use the section you clipped up to create a french braid. You can do this by taking three small sections from the front, crossing the left over the middle and then crossing the right over the middle (so effectively as you are crossing them, that section is becoming the middle section). You want to repeat those steps but add a little bit of hair to the outer sections before you cross them over. Once you have finished picking up hair you can just braid it as normal and tie it off to keep it secure when we move on.

Next you want to grab all of your hair up into a pony tail at your desired height. You can take the bobble out of your braid once you have all of your hair tied up together like this;

DSC_0222

This by itself is also a really cute hairstyle if your hair is on top form so feel free to stop here. However I carried on and pulled my pony over my head and in front of my face so I could see it (just for ease really) and did a fish tail braid, this you do by making it two sections and taking a piece from the outside of one section and crossing it over and adding it to the other, then doing the same to the other section. Repeat that until you have reached the end of your hair, or how far your hair will allow you to go and then secure it with a mini hair elastic.

DSC_0223

Then all you need to do is wrap it round the bobble you used to create your pony and pin it in place so that you are left with something looking a little like this….after ‘hairspraying’ the crap out of any baby hairs that is!

I hope that you found this post helpful and it gave you some ideas of how to switch up a regular top knot! Next week I have a very exciting post planned for Monday so keep an eye out for that one! Goodbye for now little buns!

MAC Haul!

Hi Guys! As promised in my last post… Here’s my MAC haul! I planned in advance what I wanted to get and rewrote my list over and over to make sure I was getting exactly what I wanted as its not often that I get that much money to spend at MAC! I watched many “MAC must haves” videos and kept my brain ticking for about a week before I decided what I wanted..so here goes! And for those who are interested, I will have links and prices to everything at the end of the post.

DSC_0206

The first thing I got was the Fix+ and I am SO happy that I did! It also comes in the cute sparkly box which I love! Normally, regardless of the quality of my foundation, it will ALWAYS separate on my nose however using this it is set in stone. I went shopping on Sunday and then to a mini festival  and my makeup did not budge, even though I had it on from 9am until 1:30am! I am loving this product and would highly suggest it to anyone who struggles with keeping their makeup on their face!

The next thing I got was 4 eye shadows and a mini palette to put them in! I am 100% aware that these look like the exact same colour and even when I tried to swatch them the camera just did not do them any justice! However I have used this for a good 5 days on the run and had a totally different eye look every day! The colours I chose are (from right to left on my swatch but left to right in the palette (good one Chloe)) “All that glitters”, “Cork”, “Patina” and “Tempting”. The shadows are so easy to work with and very pigmented. I think that they really suit blue eyes but I can imagine them suiting every eye colour!

DSC_0211

I had to pick up this blush in “dame”. I haven’t heard many people talk about it but it is the perfect light dusty rose colour and again I can imagine this suiting multiple, if not all skin tones. Even though it is very pale it is very pigmented and perfect for summer or any natural look.

DSC_0212

The next thing I bought was the pro longwear concealer in NC15 which is surprisingly thin feeling even though it is very full coverage. Because I am so pale and my skin is so thin my dark circles always prove tricky to hide but this makes it 10 times easier to pretend I don’t normally look dead. I have also been using it to cover up the redness I get round my nose ring and that has been doing the trick perfectly!

DSC_0213

I also picked up the strobe cream as I am all about that glowy skin. It feels really hydrating and gives my skin a lovely, healthy looking glow, my skin looks much less dull when I am wearing this. The woman who helped me (after waiting for an hour  for someone to be free to help me, thanks Fiona for being a good sport and waiting with me!) told me it was better value to get two little ones instead of one big one, you actually get more for less £ which we like…

DSC_0215

DSC_0216

The last thing I got was a frost lip stick in the colour “angel”. This is perfect for summer and is my equivalent of a nude. Once again the camera is not doing it any justice. I found that the lipstick stays on pretty well until I am eating and drinking which is pretty much the same with any lip stick.

DSC_0217

Here is my face with it all on! I only used two eye shadows though, “All that glitters” and “Cork”.

Also, to try and show you what the colours really look like, I took a nice grainy iphone picture..

Did that help at all? Who knows, I hope so!

Eye Shadows £10 each

Pro Palette Eye shadow x4 £5

Dame blush £18

Pro longwear concealer £17

Strobe Cream (travel size) £10

I hope you enjoyed this post! And in case you missed my last two then I just want to say that I am in no way trying to brag, I was bought MAC gift cards for my birthday and thought it would be fun to do a haul for you guys! Anyway, I’m off to work in an hour so I should probably think of getting my lunch sorted! Goodbye for now little buns!
